Ecobuild 2014 is taking place at the ExCeL in London (pictured left) and is displaying and showcasing examples from some of the industry’s most innovative leaders from around the world.

The conference is also hosting seminars, which will address the central topics in the sector including water and waste management, materials, refurbishing and retrofitting, design and clean energy.

Speakers include Kevin McCloud, designer and star of Channel 4’s Grand Designs, who was recently awarded an MBE for services to sustainable design.

Former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone is also due to attend.

Features at Ecobuild include Solar City, Practical Installer, Nature and the Built Environment, NFRC Roofing Pavilion, Lightscene, Insulating Britain and the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Village.

The start of the event comes just a week after the UK Green Building Council said that the British green building industry has the potential to have “vast economic benefits” for the UK.
